Questions

There may be slight discomfort whilst the filler is being injected into the skin but it can be minimised with the application of an anaesthletic cream before the treatment to provide greater comfort and relief. Our Effortless HA fillers are available with lidocaine to reduce the sensation of pain and maximise your comfort.

During the treatment session, the product is injected into the specific area of the skin to be treated, typically using a very fine needle or cannula. The treatment is quick, usually taking about 30 minutes.

Some patients experience swelling or redness after injection, which usually subsides soon after treatment. Some return to work immediately after treatment. As Effortless HA fillers are applied by injection, you may experience a slight bruise, but nothing that a little concealer can't hide.

Hyaluronic Acid is completely broken down within the skin over a period of months, eventually leaving no trace of the filler. It is also reversible - if your Healthcare Practitioner decides to dissolve the material, he/she can do so by introducing an enzyme called hyaluronidase to dissolve it. However, the enzyme should be used with caution and please inform your Healthcare Pratitioner should you have any form of allergies.

Our products are based on hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the skin. They are therefore less likely to cause an allergic reaction, and no preliminary allergy test is necessary.

There are, however, some injections-related reactions which may occur and include slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising, and pain at injection sites. These reactions are generally mild to moderate and disappear shortly after injection (typically within one or two days).

You can reduce the likelihood of bruising by avoiding blood thinning agents, such as aspirin, within a week or so before the treatment.

Be sure to inform your Healthcare Practitioner of any allergies, especially to lidocaine before treatment. You should always discuss any side effects or post-treatment reactions with your Healthcare Practitioner.

Delayed-type Inflammatory Reactions (DIRs) are complications that may arise after the use of HA fillers. It is defined as large, tender, erythematous nodules with surrounding edema presenting more than 14 days to months after filler placement.

This is due to an abnormal foreign body reaction by the immune system to the injected HA filler.

Certain type of filler technologies are more prone to DIR due to a higher composition of LMW-HA (low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid).

Our Effortless HA Fillers does not utilize LMW-HA (< 500kDa) as a starting ingredient in its manufacturing process. To date, there is no reported case of DIR secondary to Effortless HA fillers in published medical literature.

Now that’s a peace of mind when you use our Effortless HA fillers.

One of the great advantages of our fillers is that the effects are long lasting up to 18 months but not permanent. Duration depends on many factors, such as the type of treatment, the treated area, the individual’s skin type, skin condition, lifestyle, and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended.
